Diablo 3: We need a thread

[:1]Ok I realize that there's a diablo 3 forum, but I assume it's full of info and it'll be hard to sift through that... So I started this thread to keep track of new info. I've been a fan of the Diablo series, and probably will get the latest installment.

So, any news on that front?|||It will release when it's done.|||Sounds familiar.

Is that the industry's new way to make us salivate like Pavlov's dog?????????? ARE WE NOT MEN?! IF YOU PRICK US, DO WE NOT BLEED!?

I played the first two, but the whole WoW thing turns me off to Blizzard, to be honest. I might get D3, though none of the classes are all that appealing to me.|||What the hell does WoW have to do with Diablo?|||Quote:

They're made by the same company?|||Okay?

..

Not following you.

Did the creation of WoW somehow change Starcraft 2? I don't think so. SC2 sure looks like an RTS to me. Diablo 3 still looks like an action-RPG. Likewise, Valve made the Portals, yet I don't see Team Fortress 2 being changed to a single player game.|||But they did add hats to Portal 2.|||Quote:

Ok. I can't speak for RDarken, but I can pretend I know where he's coming from anyway. If Diablo III is of the same ilk as the first two games--that is to say, you pay for the game and internet play is free--then I don't see a problem. However, it could be that since WoW is such a constant cash cow for Blizzard they may do the same for D3--charge for the game, charge monthly to keep your account active--some people won't be interested.|||I was looking forward to this game when it was announced, 3 years later I'm thinking meh. The graphics looked borderline outdated in 2008 :/ also more good games coming out. I might try it (aka pirate) but I doubt I'll actually play it more than 30min or so. The whole dungeon crawl while making enemies explode gameplay gets old too fast...|||Quote:

They've already said it will be using Battle.net 2.0 for free online pay, the same system SC2 uses.
