[:1]So, does anyone know what's going on here?|||Your people are just being British again, your majesty.
Actually, I have no idea, but I hope they calm down by Friday as I'm going to visit London then and don't want to have to navigate yet another riot.|||My people? I'm not a limey! She's still my queen but, I'm not a limey.|||Wait, you're not the queen?|||From the Independent Newspaper... This is about more than just some hoody yoof (all races), this is about where the last 20 years exploiting the politics of greed and envy has bought us.
While incompetent banker and corrupt politicians act with impunity asset striping the population, all the while telling us if we behave and work hard we can get to where they are, but deny a significant slice of the population the ability to achieve, at some point it's all gonna boil over. If there's no legitimate means to achieve, some sections of society will just take what they want eventually.
I'm not suggesting there's any coordinated political agenda, nor am I excusing wanton violence, just saying some people are going to take advantage of a situation because they have nothing else to lose. I'm not saying it's right, but I am saying I'm not surprised at this turn of events.|||Quote:

So, in other words, they're: "Mad as hell and not going to take it anymore"?|||Quote:

I guess... Or, 'I'm mad as hell and gonna take whatever I want seeing as I have no other way to get all those twinklies you continually dangle in front of me'
Hmmm...|||Quote:

I trust you mean 2000+ years. The people in power have always made sure to get more power (and money) while trying to keep everyone else away from the good stuff.
Will they have forgotten all about this by the weekend or will they be stubborn about it?

Meanwhile, in some refugee camp in Africa, there are people who would consider it to be the good life if they were a homeless person in London.|||Doesn't London burn like, once every 100 years or so?|||Quote:

Yup.
Spoiler
-End of obscure PS1 reference.
But oddly I've heard not heard much of this over here in Holland. What the hell is going on over there folks? Can someone fill me in?
